Qui suis je?

Nestor DEHOUINDJI has more than 5 years’ experience as a journalist specializing in economy, trade and development and as Consultant in Youth Entrepreneurship for the Business Promotion Center Project. He has also good experience in coaching of young entrepreneurs and SME/SMI, proven capacity in analysis of sustainable development policy, contributing to improve full youth employment and track record in management of social and community projects. He is the Communication officer of the Benin Shea network and promotes trade relationship by developing Shea Value Chain.

Previously, he was the Publication Director of the 1st University Journal of Benin, called Le Heraut, created since 1988.

Nestor is motivated by engagement for development issues, especially decent work for youth and economic growth, as well as climate action. He believes that entrepreneurship is the key to full youth employment, as well as the protection of the nature can create green jobs for youth.

Nestor is passionate about international trade, and in May 2015, he was part of a seminar organized by the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung for LDC journalists on: “Commerce international et development durable”, in Geneva Switzerland. Also, he participated at the 10th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Nairobi, in December 2015, and the 1st forum on “Women in Business”, organized by International Trade Centre in Nairobi (Kenya). In 2014 he was selected as Task Force Member of Peace Child International (U.K.) NGO to edit the document: “The Conakry-Rabat Commitment: a roadmap to Full Youth Employment by 2030”, and was awarded as a member of the Top 25 young leaders of the year in Benin, by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.

Furthermore, Nestor has received numerous awards and has participated in a number of prestigious leadership programs. In 2016, regarding to his exceptional achievements, Nestor was selected as one of the 16 Young Leaders of the world by the European Commission, to attend the European Development Days and speak in a High level panel under “The development & trade link and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. In the same year, he was awarded among the Ten Outstanding Young Person in Benin, by Junior Chamber International.
